Developing Bat Speed
The Prime ingredient to great power hitting involves creating bat speed! The Swing Blaster provides the hitter and coach with an audible click when maximum bat speed is created. The goal is to have this occur before you make contact with the ball. Fail to do this and a fast pitch gets by you. DBA (Deep Barrel Acceleration) is super important to hitting with power! The sooner that the hitter can accelerate the bat barrel and establish that speed early and within the proper swing plane, the more squarely and powerfully they will hit the ball.
Attaches To Your Own Bat
Unlike other training devices, The Swing Blaster quickly attaches to the player's bat and can be used during actual batting practice. By using the Swing Blaster, the audible feedback tells a batter when the maximum speed of their swing has occurred. Did the audible click occur in back of the strike zone between the catcher and home plate or well after? Once the player has practiced the technique that makes the audible sound occur early in the swing, they can practice this while away from the field. Just practice swinging with the Swing Blaster attached to a bat and develop muscle memory! Help that young player be ready and confident when stepping up to the plate!

How To Use
While there are many philosophies about what the ideal swing would look like, all of those knowledgeable in the field of hitting agree that
bat speed is one of the most important ingredients
to power hitting. If you set the Swing Blaster by removing the correct amount of White Spacers (
Fig. 3
) depending on your level so that only your best swings release the Fly Nut, this is a great way to develop consistency in generating your most powerful swings when at the plate. You
can
use the Swing Blaster during batting practice!
Make sure the Swing Blaster faces in the opposite direction of the ball of the incoming ball or when hitting off of a tee, doing actual batting practice, or during soft toss. The Swing Blaster must be installed BELOW the hitting area of the bat barrel or the warranty may be voided.
Swing your bat after adding the Swing Blaster (see instructions above).
There are 10 spacers on Swing Blaster that can be removed. They have a split so just pluck one off and take a good hard swing in a safe area (always let others around you know that you are swinging abd swing in a direction away from others!
Now, remove one spacer at a time and test your best swing. Continue removing spacers and testing your swing until you can only release the Fly Nut with 75% of your better swings.
Now that you have “set” your Swing Blaster for practice mode, The goal should be to release the Fly Nut during actual hitting whether doing Tee, Soft Toss, or Live PitchingYou can work on small changes in your swing and immediately “hear” if your bat speed becomes more consistent or improved whether hitting live pitching, hitting off of a tee, soft toss, or practice swinging.
After consistently achieving a click and building the muscle memory to do so, remove another spacer and strive to swing even faster by challenging yourself to achieve the click at the next level!
Determining Your Bat Speed
The Swing Blaster can be used to analyze what bat speed is being generated by the hitter. These speeds were measured using a Microwave Doppler Speed Detector. The Swing Blaster. The Swing Blaster was positioned just below the thick area of the barrel when the barrel tapered down, on a 34” 28oz bat.

By practicing proper swing dynamics including ideal grip position, rotational technique of torso, weight distribution and other dynamics that increase a hitter's power, the Swing Blaster will tell you with audible feedback what combination of the above works best for you! You will know immediately if you have generated enough power to release the Fly Nut along the Glide Cylinder and at what point during the swing and where in the swing plane that power peaked! Use the Swing Blaster at home to build muscle memory once developing that power swing, and we also encourage coaches and young baseball and fastpitch softball players to use the Swing Blaster together! While Bat Speed alone is not the only variable to great hitting, it is very important and should be worked on constantly!
